mr Salsa Man History

It all began in 1993 while I was working for Private Jet Airlines. Each
month the office would have a potluck. I decided to bring my home made
hot salsa. It was a hit! A couple of my co-workers approached me with
an order list. Even though I was very surprised and flattered, I
declined to take orders, but my co-workers convinced me to do so.
That was the start of something that I never expected.

As years passed I continued working in the airline industry at the
Atlanta airport, and also continued to bottle my HOT salsa and sell
it to friends at the airport, some of which didn't know my name (Kelly)
and referred to me as the “Salsa Man”. Of course the name stuck, and
the orders were overwhelming.


My wife, Dee, family and friends encouraged me to take my HOT salsa to
the next level to get it out on the market. After I received my nutrition
facts label I then designed my own label and had the labels made. Instead
of using the Mason jars as I had been using, I ordered plastic containers
with tamper proof lids. And of course my product was tested with a food
laboratory to make sure all was ok.

I built a vending cart in effort to get my product out in the public eye.
I sell at such events as car shows, craft shows, ball games and parades.
It has been very successful.

Today I continue, with the help of my wife, to sell my HOT salsa all
around Atlanta. Now I'm shipping throughout the U.S.
